Personality:

An island girl nation with a headstrong and easygoing personality!"

As a nation with a lot of trauma in her past, she usually tries her best to move forward. After all, what is the point in thinking all these bad things when you could look on the brighter side of things! Just like she said, "The Taiwanese don't believe in bad luck!", and you can't spell optimism without Taiwan on it!

Compared to most of her family members, Taiwan is usually the one to approach people. With a friendly smile and cheerful outlook on life, she wants everyone to feel the same as she does. This is the same girl who said to Macau and Vietnam that they should have confidence and that you are only as old as you feel. She also goes out of her way to help someone when they need it. This is true when she gave Japan a tour and showed him everything that she had to offer. Even when Italy had some problems with finding a souvenir store, she openly said that wasn't a good idea! (You don't want to get trampled over by China!) On top of being an open girl, she is also someone who just wants to have some fun. When she told Vietnam that there was something serious, she had a conference where people could guess voice actors in anime! A meeting would be more fun that way!

Being an optimist, she views the world as half-full. As she said in her character song, "I keep looking forward, you know? Let's go!" Despite her endless worries, she wants to look to the brighter side of things. This is also the same young nation who is thriving despite all the turmoil she has endured. Being part of the Four Asian Tigers, she is one of the most modern nations in the eastern hemisphere. Everything is booming and nothing is stopping her. This shows as she tries to befriends many people and she would never say a negative thing to others (unless you're China). She commented about how great Hungary's hot springs were, she said how Vietnam was adorable, and so on. This also shows in how she dresses herself. Since she wants to look trendy, there is not a day where she goes off looking unfashionable. With that said, she can be shallow because she focuses mostly on her appearance and others. While she can be pushy, she wants the best for people and is willing to listen to people (unless said otherwise). Sadly, this can make her a bit naive and trusting sometimes.

Just like any other teenage girl, Taiwan tries to make herself noticeable, she is never one to be without wearing the latest fashion or whatever was 'in'. She makes her own outfits and makes sure she looks good in them no matter what. Despite being one of the more casual Asian countries, she knows when to be polite and well mannered. Never be rude when someone invited you over! With that said, she is very self conscious about the way she looks. Compared to European countries, she realizes that she looks rather plain. When she compared herself to Ukraine or Hungary in the manga, all she could do was hide in shame about her body.

It should be said that while Taiwan is honest, she can be too direct for her own good. Just like any other normal teenage girl, it doesn't take much to anger her. This is the same girl who bluntly said ,"Hey, you bastard, leave Japan alone!", with no hesitation. She also manages to hold her own against many different countries that comes her way. China, Japan and even Netherlands know how strong the island nation can be and dare not face her wrath. In the manga, when she told Hong Kong to wish for something else other than money, he was surprised at how she picky she was.

Even if she isn't as strict like most of her family members, that doesn't mean Taiwan isn't traditional. Family is the center of attention compared to everything else. She is willing to make great sacrifices for them regardless. If anyone dare to mock them, she makes them pay. There is a limit she can take and if someone said anything mean about them, she will say her opinion even if that person might be a family member themselves. While she teases and bickers with China all the time, she does care about him. When China got sick during a Halloween Event, Taiwan looked away and gave him medicine to make him feel better. Even when the same was true for Korea, she would do anything for him, too.

In a lot of ways, she can be pushy as well. This is the same girl who manages to keep roping Vietnam into cosplayinh with her whenever they gets the chance. While Vietnam told her it made her uncomfortable, Taiwan simply said that it would be fun either way! It wouldn't be fun to just do everything by yourself! And couldn't she just watch anime instead of studying? Wouldn't that be much more fun?

In short, Taiwan is a cheerful girl and doesn't like to see people to worry about her. She looks frail but she can be feisty if you make her angry. Yes, she is used to getting what she wants and cam be a bit nosy. However, she wants to live life however it comes to her.

Powers/Abilities: Since Taiwan is a nation, she is immortal. While her wounds can hurt her, she can heal them a lot faster than the normal average human.

Outside of that, Taiwan also has the ability to be a good cook and sewing her own costumes. She knows what is the latest fashion and always tries to keep up with whatever is trendy.

Keepsakes/Mementos:

-Her flower hairclip
-Her extensive list of mangas she likes to collect
-Her flag
-Bubble tea powder mix
-Picture of Jay Chou

Sample: Despite how many times she was prepared for it, she knew that this would happen sooner or later. She was given so many warnings and yet, she never thought it would end like this.

As she heard the loud pounding from the doors, all Taiwan could do was hide under a table. It was funny, she thought to herself, how she ended like this. She thought she would be safe against the troubles of war but it wasn't meant to be. She was getting lazy in the last couple of decades and she was paying the price. Although, no one could blame her. With how peaceful things were, she didn't think that a war would come so quickly. Sure, she had done everything she could to prepare and yet, people were always telling her to do more. Of course she did but she didn't want to think that a war would be possible.

In her mind, she kept repeating the words of how sorry she was to everyone. She should have listened to Hong Kong, she should have listened to Japan, she even should have listened to China out of all people! And now look at them, all have died one by one!

However, her tears were meaningless as she could feel her own people dying from the immediate attack against the enemy. Now that she was lying on the ground, she felt a new emotion in her that she never thought she would feel again. Was it anger? Was this what it felt like after so long? Or did her own people feel that hostility as well? Whatever it might be, it was growing quickly.

With another loud pounding from the door, she came out of the table and looked straight at a nearby window. It wasn't any surprise that she saw smoke and heard screams from her own citizens. Even as she closed her eyes and wished it all away, it didn't change. This wasn't any different from many years ago. She wondered how it turned out like this. What went wrong? What happened to the friendship between nations? Whatever happened to peace treaties? Why was war needed? Whatever it was, she had to do something. Her people needed her and in return, she needed her own people.

As she took a couple of steps away from the entrance, she decided to find whatever was lying around. "Sorry..." She mumbled to herself. "If this is how it must be, then so be it." There wasn't anyone within hearing distance but it was only a matter of time for them to burst open. If this was going to end badly, she wasn't going down without a fight.

Now that the barrier between them was cracking, the military wasted no time charging right in. With only a wooden stick, she only gave a glare. Of course, as they ran toward her, it ended differently from how she was expecting it. Now that she stood there was a stab wound on her stomach, her field of vision was fading away. She didn't need to look down as the blood was slowly dripping to her skirt. As she fell to her knees, she was screaming in pain before a solider pointed a gun to her head.

Was this really it...?

Mindset: When Taiwan wakes up, she'll remember her death but treat it as though she's in denial. Taiwan has always looked to the brighter side of any situtation and to hear that there is a digital after life? Of course, she won't believe it, it sounds like it was something straight out of a game! Despite how cool it may sound, she can't see anything positive out of this. She is dead, what good would come out of this?

Of course, while her death may come sooner or later, it is still a lot to take in. She know she can't keep moping forever and will try to keep herself busy from thinking depressing thoughts. However in doing so, it might make her own depression even worse.

G̶̶l̨͡i̵͢t̷c͝͠h̕é͠s̷̷͡: There are a lot of fears that Taiwan has.

Despite her being a nation, Taiwan is still a young woman. She is scared about her personal figure as well as thinking that she's not good enough. She tries her best to keep up with whatever is 'in' and fears that if she doesn't, she will fail somehow.

She also fears about her own apperance. She often makes a big focus about how she looks and what is in fashion and what not. She makes her own costumes that make her look cute along with anyone else she feels like putting in cosplays.

Another fear of hers is her loss of independence. While her issues with China are shaky at best, Taiwan is a woman who likes to have things done her way. She is someone who knows what she wants and knows how she'll get it. She isn't someone who likes another person telling her otherwise.

One fear of hers is her own issues with death. Being 400+ years old, she has seen many people come and go in her life. The idea of living forever doesn't scare her and she knows she'll die at some point. However, when it does come? She'll have no idea how to handle it. In a sense, she does have some issues about her own immortality.
